All buildings on Smidovicha Street were originally constructed in the same year using wood. Over time, they have become outdated not only in their floor plans but also structurally hazardous due to the deteriorating condition of the wood. These factors led the city to make the decision to demolish all the old wooden buildings on the street.
Main goal
To replace the outdated houses with new buildings. The new structures were designed to maintain the same height and architectural shape as the previous ones, preserving the historical scale of the street.
Result
The project was highly appreciated by the competition organizers, jury members, and the citizens of Naryan-Mar.
Our design received both the Citizens’ Choice Award and the Wooden Buildings Association Award.
